            Organic offers a more intense, wholistic approach to lawn care, incorporating soil management, cutural controls, organic fertilizers, and physical weed removal. Excelsior is now offering organic lawn care, available either as a lawn care program (billed monthly) or as individual services (billed per service).  Weed control is chemical-free and fertilizers consist of organic products. The price of organic services reflects the greater amount of labor required and the higher cost of organic materials. Nevertheless, there are advantages to going organic. Organic lawn care, as a general rule, is safer for people, animals, and the environment. Also, your lawn is allowed to build up its own natural resistance to insects, disease, and weeds.

    Organic services can be purchased individually, or as part of a lawn care program. Excelsior's organic program incorporates five fertilizer applications per year and two weeding sessions per month from April through the end of September. Individual services are also offered.

Q & A
    Q: What do you mean by "qualifying lawns"?
    A: We can only offer organic weed control at reasonable rates to lawns which are under a certain weed threshhold. When an Excelsior lawn specialist comes out to give you an official price quote, he will evaluate whether your lawn is under the necessary threshhold to qualify for participation in Excelsior's organic program. For lawns that do not qualify, it is recommended to first have a couple of chemical weed control applications to get weed levels under control before switching to the organic program.
